Domestic appliance repair · Singapore

It stopped working.
Now what?

S1 Home repairs domestic electrical and electronic appliances across Singapore. Before you book anything, work out how urgent it actually is — some faults mean switch it off now, and some can wait until the weekend.

Level 01 — Urgency

Four levels. Find yours before you call.

Not every fault is an emergency, and not every emergency looks like one. Match your symptom to a level below, then act on it — the top row is the one people ignore for too long.

Level 1 Stop now

Burning smell · sparking · repeated tripping

Also: scorched socket, hot plug, visible smoke

Switch it off at the wall and leave it off. Do not reset the breaker a second time or keep using the unit "carefully". Call us and describe exactly what you saw or smelt.

Level 2 Call today

Fridge not cooling · water leaking · no hot water

Also: freezer thawing, water pooling under a machine

Every hour costs you something — spoiled food or water finding its way into a floor. Move perishables, turn the water supply off if it is leaking, and book the earliest slot we have.

Level 3 Book this week

Will not spin or drain · no heat · error code

Also: drum noise, cycles stopping partway, weak suction

Annoying rather than dangerous, but these rarely improve on their own and a small fault left running usually takes a bigger part with it. Book within the week and keep using it as little as you can.

Level 4 Can wait

Slower than it was · noisy · cosmetic damage

Also: worn seals, stiff hinges, cracked trays and shelves

Book it around your schedule. Worth pairing with another appliance so one visit covers both — most homes have two or three of these waiting at any time.

If you are unsure which level applies, treat it as the higher one and call. Describing the symptom over the phone costs nothing and often settles it in two minutes.

Level 02 — Appliances

What we open and repair.

Household units across the usual brands. Anything that plugs in and heats, cools, spins or pumps is likely covered — if it is not listed, ask anyway.

01

Refrigerators & freezers

Not cooling, over-freezing, water pooling, loud compressor, failed door seals and thermostats.

02

Washing machines

Will not spin or drain, leaking, drum bearing noise, door lock faults, panel error codes.

03

Tumble dryers

No heat, clothes still damp after a full cycle, drum not turning, vent blockages, thermal cut-outs.

04

Ovens & cookers

Element failure, uneven baking, thermostat drift, door hinges and glass, timer and control faults.

05

Microwaves

Runs but does not heat, sparking inside, turntable stopped, door interlocks, keypad failure.

06

Dishwashers

Standing water, poor wash results, door leaks, spray arm blockage, inlet valve and pump faults.

07

Water heaters

No hot water, lukewarm only, tripping on switch-on, leaking tanks, elements and thermostats.

08

Induction & ceramic hobs

Zones not heating, error codes, cracked glass replacement, unresponsive touch controls, fan noise.

09

Small kitchen appliances

Kettles, blenders, air fryers, rice cookers and coffee machines, where parts remain available.

10

Vacuums, fans & ventilation

Suction loss, motor and battery faults, ceiling and exhaust fans, cooker hoods, capacitors and switches.

11

Appliance electrical faults

Units tripping the breaker, burning smells, intermittent power — traced to the appliance or its circuit.

12

Second opinions

Quoted elsewhere and unsure? We will diagnose it independently and tell you what we would charge.

Outside our scope

Audio and video equipment is not something we handle. Televisions, speakers, amplifiers, projectors and media players need a specialist AV repairer — we will say so rather than take the booking.

Level 03 — The visit

What ninety minutes looks like.

An indicative single-appliance callout. Times shift with the fault, but the order never does — nothing is dismantled before you have seen a price.

00 – 10 min

Arrival & history

We call before setting off. On arrival we ask what it does, when it started and what you have already tried.

10 – 40 min

Diagnosis

Supply, controls, motor, heating and drainage tested in front of you until the failed component is identified.

40 – 50 min

Quote & decision

Parts and labour in writing, plus an honest view on whether repairing is worth it. You decide, not us.

50 – 90 min

Repair & test

Fitted from van stock where possible, then a full cycle run with you watching before the area is cleared.

Level 04 — Recent work

Callouts around the island.

Replace these placeholders with your own photos. The opened unit, the failed part beside its replacement, and the finished test cycle are the three that reassure people most.

Job 01 — Refrigerator pulled out, rear panel open
Tampines · Fridge not cooling — start relay
Job 02 — Washer front panel off, pump exposed
Clementi · Will not drain — pump replaced
Job 03 — Oven element replacement
Bukit Timah · Oven element
Job 04 — Water heater terminal cover open
Serangoon · Thermostat
Job 05 — Failed part beside its replacement
Parts · Old and new, same invoice
Level 05 — Terms

Quoted first.
Fixed second.

Nothing here is a surprise on the invoice. If we find something further inside once the panel is off, we stop and ask before continuing.
